Jack Splash (AKA the guy from Plantlife) has a new album coming out and he's teamed up with the likes of
Missy Elliott,
Lupe Fiasco, Jazmine Sullivan and others. Like his compositions for Plantlife, his solo work is heavy on the 70s disco inspiration and sex talk. 'Flashback' and 'I Could Have Loved You' are the first leaks from the album.
'I Could Have Loved You' (featuring Missy Elliott and Jazmine Sullivan)
is pop perfection – a funk-inspired, playful, breathy song about unrequited
(and impossible) love with some of Elliott's reminiscent of her 90s golden years.
And she uses the word 'Dingalingalingling'.
Technology & Love Might Save Us All is due out later this year and it's shaping up to be a doozie. Crossed fingers for a tour because Splash is an amazing frontman.
