Details are sketchy, but several sources have announced that MC, and one half of pioneer hip hop duo Gangstarr, Guru (Gifted Unlimited Rhymes Universal, AKA Keith Elam) has fallen into a coma following a heart attack today.
Guru is credited as one of the world's most successful solo MCs blending hip hop with jazz, and has worked with iconic DJ Premier since Gangstarr's inception in 1985.
The story is that Guru will undergo surgery tomorrow, but we have very few details. Elam's sister is said to have broken the news and DJ Premier has since confirmed it.
