Gonja Sufi, when will you stop being so mysterious? Probably never? Thought so.
The LA-based vocalist is part shaman, part Middle Eastern lament and part psychedelic epitome of wonder who collaborates with people like Flying Lotus and the Gaslamp Killer to make remarkable music. So remarkable in fact that Warp Records signed him some time ago, but we’re still yet to hear word of news on a full-length album.
What has surfaced recently however is this short clip by Lico, featuring Gonja Sufi’s music and presumably a track named 'Stardustin'. At only a minute-and-a-quarter long, once again Gonja Sufi has drawn us in with the ‘less is more’ approach. And once again, it’s worked. And while we’re holding our breath, we might as well look out for the
Gaslamp Killer x Gonja Sufi collaboration set for release sometime early in the new year.
