Indie label Plug Research is always pretty much guaranteed to be on-point (*cough* Flying Lotus/Shafiq Husayn/Om’Mas Keith/Bilal/Exile *cough*), so when it was announced that they added Quadron to their stable, that was reason enough to check them out.
The Danish duo comprises of producer Robin Hannibal (he of Owusu and Hannibal/Boom Clap Bachelors fame and in other unrelated matters is somewhat of a swoondog; see gallery to your right) and vocalist Coco (also of Boom Clap Bachelors), who is only a gasp-worthy 21 years of age. The two come together in a sea that ebbs and flows with the fluidity of detergent on a slip-n-slide, already championed by Gilles Peterson, James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem and Pharrell.
Quadron’s self-titled album will be out March 23rd, but until then…
