Entertainment Weekly knows very little about entertainment

US Entertainment Weekly has just released their list of top albums from 1983 until now. It's pretty much bullshit. And the evidence is right here.

Shania Twain Come on Over and Mariah Carey The Emancipation of Mimi both came in the top 20s, beating the likes of Beastie Boys, the Pixies, Bob Dylan, the Smiths, Elvis Costello, Notorious B.I.G., and the Police. The Nirvana album chosen for the list was MTV Live in New York. The Greenday album chosen was American Idiot. Bjork was outdone by Sheryl Crowe. Run DMC was trumped by Kelly Clarkson. People out there think Coldplay is better than LCD Soundsystem. Prince was number one though, thankfully, although he's immediately followed by U2.

Let's not even start on the albums that were ignored.

To be fair, that's aimed at the most mainstream audience you can imagine. A bunch of fat fucks out in the mid west who think Nascar racing is a sport. I'm surprised it's not more shit.

if you wanted to be "fair", you wouldn't have categorized the entire midwest as "fat fucks .. who think NASCAR racing is a sport". i live in the midwest and i can assure you that the the people here have little or absolutely NO clue who most of those artists are let alone care about what "US" entertainment magazine has to say. with a fuckin' name like "US Entertainment" you know they're not including "us" .. understood? however, i do agree that most midwesterners think NASCAR is actually a sport - unfortunately. i don't .. but then again, i'm not your average midwesterner either ..

Look at it in the context of who the list is for. We shouldn't care nor should we be surprised. Best of lists are way too subjective for me to give a fuck to be honest. Whats a good tune to me is crap to someone else etc.
