Del the Funky Homosapien (when did it change from Del tha Funkee Homosapien?) is releasing a new album for the first time since forever (2000 actually, because greatest hits albums don't count). 'Workin It' is the second single from the upcoming
11th Hour, and the video has a bit of a mad professor vibe, with Del covered in wires and surrounded by MPCs, keyboards, mixers, decks, microphones and a gramophone. Things start lighting up in neon colours, in a not-so-subtle allusion to the magic of creating.
Kind of minimal, kind of sci-fi, 'Workin It' has Del's rhymes kind of relaxed, but he's still on it. Because he usually is, isn't he?
And for your listening pleasure, Del's first single from
11th Hour, 'Bubble pop'. It's a bit more of an amped-up party jam, which, chances are, you've already heard.
