Since doing
tracks with Pharrell Williams and Kanye West, two more songs from Common's
Universal Mind Control have appeared on the interwebs. This time, the rapper has again seen the benefits of teaming up with pop-friendly artists and has recorded with Cee-Lo (of
Gnarls Barkley) and
Chester French.
Cee-Lo might be a weird little bugger, but on 'Made my Day' he proves once again that he's one of the very few excellent modern soul voices (
?uestlove thinks so too).
Chester French do what they do on 'What a World' and bring the upbeat pop in truckloads.
But these latest songs might not impress long-time fans of Common who have frequently been disappointed with the rapper's change of direction.
