It’s fairly safe to say that every hipster in Sydney was in the crowd of the Klaxons' gig at Enmore Theatre on Thursday night. Apart from the inner circle twirling their fingers in the air up the front, there were the usual suspects: cropped-haired pixies, VB-swilling indies, and long-haired kids nodding their heads to the five piece band’s undeniably ethereal and psychedelic sounds.
The Klaxons have clearly kept their fan base expanding with the recent release of their new album Surfing The Void last month, with lots of young’uns schmoozing through the access all ages concert (we personally got ID’d five years past our use by date, but that’s another story altogether). The 2007 break-out hits were still where it was at however, with the surprisingly conventional and charmingly accented English lads raking it in with 'It’s Not Over' and 'Golden Skans'.
