While it didn't reach the doomsday forecast of 40 degrees (a mild 38.1 was the peak) it was insufferably hot at the Melbourne Big Day Out. That didn't deter 52 thousand people milling about Flemington Racecourse however, to take in the likes of Die Antwoord, LCD Soundsystem, Tool, Iggy and the Stooges, Grinderman and Crystal Castles; all of whom put in exemplary sets in unforgiving conditions.
How cute and enthusiastic are Matt & Kim? Very. How cool is Andrew WK? Lots. How much of an enigma is Nick Cave? Heaps enigmatic.
