You know those magical stories in which something special happens, almost by mistake? That's Gill Lawrence's Toi et Moi. In 2009 Lawrence drew a bunch clothes and a few months later there was a real life fashion label. Just like that.
Some people might get a little envious of the Sydney-based brand's story, but not us – this cutting down our "tall poppies" shit is way stupid, 'Strayans. So we're here to celebrate the label's summer 2011-12 collection that is French-inspired, but still very Australian.
The lookbook pretty much encapsulates summer: sunshine, beaches, floaty and bright clothes and plenty of flesh. Of course, like all of Toi et Moi's collections there's plenty of stripes, lovehearts and Paris. Our pick is the peach mid-length dress and scalloped leopard number.
