Taking the mannequin look to new and sexy heights, Kitty Grace has used a porcelain skinned model to show off its latest look book. With rouged lips, oversized tie-up bow heels, tilted hat and amazing tight ‘n tailored bikinis and frocks - this is one uber sleek campaign. It will also incite women Australia-wide to dramatically slap fake tan bottles out of their own hands and embrace the pasty. And perhaps re-live Kim Cattrall’s hair style circa 1987.
Is it just me or does Kim Cattrall keep popping up in random eighties flicks like some sort of C-grade movie ninja? Just me? Okay……
Moving on. Superfine has discovered that the best way to showcase jeans in a shoot is to have the model pose in nothing but well, jeans. The latest look book for A/W ’12 continues to define the brand’s mantra of ‘skinny topless model photographed in black and white’, and the inclusion of model Kasia Struss makes it quite frankly, flawless.
I really, really, really want to like Rufskin’s S/S ’12 ad campaign. Buuuuuuuuut, I don’t. Nothing spells
blatant penis eye candy homoerotic more than having a beautiful male model like Bruno De Angelis look like he just stuffed a shopping bag full of sweet potatoes down his budgie smugglers, no matter how chiselled his features appear in the Mediterranean sun. Plus, there is seriously way too much needless back-of-the-head self-caressing going on here for me to even consider this a fashion campaign – it’s now in the soft porn category.
Speaking of porn, Kylie Minogue has tweeted a pic of herself, rolling around on a black fur rug, naked except for some fish nets. Plus of course, she is facing her famous rear end at the camera and DAMN, this 44 year old has managed to prove in one fell swoop that she is still rocking one hot little derrière. Take note Kim Kardashian, it’s the substance of the shot, not the twenty thousand angles. Yours is still HUMUNGOUS no matter how you look at that thing.
The ASTRA awards were held in Sydney last Friday. And no, I don’t understand the need for them either. However, the night did signify to all fashionistas out there that Asher Keddie, Ruby Rose and Megan Gale are still absolute stunners with impeccable taste in dressing, whilst Terry Biviano continues to make small children and old nanna curtains quake in fear. Oh, and did I mention white is, like, totes in at the moment?

Isabeli Fontana is super babe-ing it up in the swimwear department this year with another campaign under her, ummm, itsy bitsies. Brazilian label Morena Rosa have partnered with their native supermodel to produce one stunning campaign. Fontana is akin to a sun drenched goddess of the lense and absolutely kills this shoot, even more so than her appearance in H&M’s recent OTT tanned shoot. It is an amazing combination of succulent and juicy colours, spectacular accessories, Fontana’s sizzling body and Jacques Dequeker’s fine photography skills. Feel free to start ogling this fine specimen of wet hair modelling at your own leisure.
From firey red head to sassy blonde, Emma Stone has done a ‘Rose Byrne’ and worn a plunging Elie Saab jumpsuit at the London premier of The Amazing Spiderman. She looked smokin’ hot in the black one piece, however some observers described the outfit as ‘cinched at the waist, so as to show off her curves’. UHM, what? This girl is as skinny and as flat as they come, which is why this design looked so classy on her – imagine Kate Upton trying to rock this look (although many would want her to try). The law of physics just wouldn’t allow it, but Maxim definitely would. So it’s a win-win, really. And no, I will not be including a gratuitous shot of Upton in her bikinis whilst Terry Richardson shoots her with his tongue lolling at the side. Lifelounge has already showcased that masterful piece of photography. You’ll just have to enjoy this clip instead.
Over & out amigos.
