The
last time we mentioned Kali Arulpragasam's stunning, outrageous and bold jewellery designs, they received some very different feedback.
Hunger, her summer collection, is inspired by the way that food is perceived in countries other than in the West. Arulpragasam (M.I.A.'s sister) made beads that were moulded from staples like rice, beans, corn, nuts, lentils and seeds, and has created some of the most beautiful and amazing jewellery.
While there are giant breastplates, and even a kind of holster body piece, there are also much smaller and more delicate pieces in the extensive collection.
And before you call her a hypocrite or anything for making gold and silver beads while trying to send a message about poverty, famine and consumption; know that a percentage of all Super Fertile sales go directly to Oxfam.
