Lingerie design-duo The Lake and Stars draws its namesake from the Victorian era’s euphemism for a woman that rocked it out in the boudoir. A little glance at the latest lookbook, however, shows none of this epoch’s traditionally modest brand of sexuality. Try not to judge L&S for their ill-fitting moniker – apparently “S&M Hustlers Working It For The Money” was already copyrighted.
Shot by New York photographer Tom Hines, the spring/summer 2010 lookbook aims to tell a scantily-clad tale of mystery and intrigue. And, boy oh boy, is story time fun! Basically, if IMDb were to summarise the basic plot outline, it would go something like this: Girl goes camping. Girl ends up getting stalked by a man with an axe. Girl then gets taken hostage in a not-all-together unattractive manner but is luckily rescued by a man with nice arms.
Spoiler Alert! She wears sheer voile underwear throughout the whole saga.
