Lee and Lani are everything you'd expect a swimwear label from Miami to be: sun drenched, balmy, and totally chav. Just in case you were unsure about that last bit, the label's latest campaign also features some randomly LV-emblazoned AK-47s, as well as a peroxide blonde model "presenting" to the camera - but it works, and the whole thing is totally alluring.
Aside from bum slaps, this spring-summer 2012 lookbook for the Premium range also features its fair share of beautifully tinted blue sky scape shots. It's an aesthetic closely aligned to the recent creative of locally loved Aussie swim label,
We Are Handsome, which does raises some very interesting chicken/egg/copyright issues.
Unlike WAH, however, Lee and Lani doesn't make its big bucks off digitally printed fabrics and pictures of animals. Rather, designers Lisa and Alana are much more traditional: think well-formed designs, strongly supportive fabrics, and a generous amount of binding for the bigger busted ladies. (There's also some very well framed crotch shots in there for good measure.)
