Honey B Gold seems to be working on a similar mantra to that of
Married to the MOB; fuck bros, get money, be a boss bitch.
Some of the summer 2011 collection is on-point – namely the ancient Egypt influenced earrings, Scarab beetle three-finger ring, LA necklace, and houndstooth earrings. It's a bummer, then, that some of the range seems a little too similar to Melody Ehsani's output (namely the chain-covered plastic knuckle-duster), while some – just the $100 bill and 'Fuck Him' rings – looks a little too close to dress-up jewellery rather than costume jewellery (there is a difference, believe).
We don't want to rag on it though, because when Honey B Gold hits the mark, it really hits it. Long nails, faux gold, sex and dollar signs – it's flashy and trashy and really fun.
