Hellz Bellz just keeps getting fancier – the label (along with its founder/designer Lanie Alabanza-Barcena) is getting grown. Created as a divergence from women's fashion's hyper-feminine schtick, Hellz has drifted towards the feminine, but maintains its very strong sense of sass and boldness this season.
The fall 2010 collection is called
The Rest Is Her Story and it's a slightly more ritzy and girly (with the inclusion of pleats, bows and ruffles) but is definitely not for wallflowers. The range includes some bolsh – giant puffed sleeves, structured blazers, androgynous pants, and some pretty saucy tee slogans including "Kiss me where I pee" (also seen on the
In God We Trust heart necklaces) – to balance the feminine touches.
Inspired by the femme fatale; specifically from films like
Lady Snowblood and
Thriller, this is one of Hellz Bellz's most sassy and pleasing collections yet. Applause.
