It's tricky to find good fashion jewellery. The whole faux-bling thing is over, but chain stores are still flogging it. Swallows, doves, and butterflies are still being manically attached to anything gold or silver. Tiffany and Co are making far too much profit from mediocre designs. Ghetto weapons are being flaunted by middle-class kids the world over. And can everybody just admit it: massive pearl studs on 12-year-olds just looks weird.
We have posted about them in the
past but they're so awesome that we figured it appropriate to rehash on their awesomeness. Alex and Chloe use perspex, silver and gold (no mucking around gold either - that's 14 carats, kids) when creating their jewellery, and amongst some mediocre designs, there are some little gems too.
I just wonder, would the super-shiny, super-schmick Paris necklace have the same effect if it said Mildura? Or Bangkok? Or Baghdad? Actually, a necklace saying Baghdad is an awesome idea. Don't steal it.
