Since 2002, American label Crooks & Castles has been bringing streetwear (in their words "a lifestyle brand") to the gangsta in all of us. Their hip hop influences have always been aplenty – lots of script, chains and pseudo-graffiti graphics – and this collection follows suit.
Now catering for the ladies, gentlemen and little tackers, Crooks & Castles' summer 2010 collection is heavy on the brights and branding. Lots of logo tanks and tee-shirts, as well as the staple block colour shorts and checkered button-ups. While the women's staple crewnecks and singlets are pretty sweet, it's the ever-so-slightly more difficult pieces (patterned leggings and shirts) where the collection falls a little flat.
Solid and bright staples are the Crooks & Castles trademark, and their forte.
