Despite studying the French Revolution, pretty much all I can remember is which King Louis it was (XVI), the fact that Marie Antoinette kind of didn't really say "Let them eat cake" and the poor love just had no idea, that the ladies marched to Versailles to tell the royals that their families were hungry, and that Bastille Day is today. Vive la révolution! Fromage! Discoteque! Chouette! Le freak, c'est chic!
The creators of the French-named Belle Sauvage, Ferreira and Neuman are from Argentina and Luxembourg respectively, and their label is based in London. With their capes, hoods, studs and crazy patterns and cuts; Belle Sauvage's numbers aren't for the faint of coeur.
The two super artsy designers studied fashion and film-making and firmly believe that their garments are the same as a painter's paintings or an illustrator's drawings; they are their own wearable works of art.
