We just don’t know quite what it is about
Opening Ceremony. Sure, the clothes are super spruce; but logically we know that they’re far over-hyped, enrol the talents of
anybody who’s
somebody to the point of cliché, and at the end of the day just make stuff to go on your person and feet.
Then a couple of new shots – say, like the ones just released by
David Benjamin Sherry – crop up on your newsfeed, and all logic just flies out along with your morals. Suddenly you’re thinking of all the "crafty" things you could do to buy a pair of borderline-grotesque Huarache Clogs. You know, like personal solicitation.
Sherry’s beautifully smoky and cloudy shots give the whole thing a bit of blurry mystique, but if you squint real hard you can in fact see some technicolour prints, dapper denim menswear, and the odd nipple. What is clearest is that Evelina is a total babe, really hairy legs on men can be done, and – no matter what anybody says – Isaac Hayes and your grandma are not the only ones look rad in
socks and sandals.
