A Tribute to the Fashion of My So Called Life

This year My So Called Life will turn 18 years old. It seems like only yesterday that Claire Danes and co. were working out their angsty teen issues on our television screens, and yet their adorably frown-y faces were taken from us too soon (they didn't die, but the show did).

Who knows why those awkward Degrassi kids were able to launch again and MSCL could not (maybe a lack of Drake?), but whatever the reason this classic drama will always have its roots firmly placed in the mid-'90s. And for this reason, they will always remain perfect style beacons of the best of '90s fashion.

The obvious icon is Rayanne Graff. The bold badass who smoked under the bleachers and drank wine in the school toilets, she always looked like she put on whatever she found on the floor that morning, which was kind of her appeal. Ricky, who always managed to match his socks to his skivvy, and had the most amazing statement jackets and vests. Even the fashion choices of ho-hum Sharon have aged well, floral blouses with high waisted skirts and flowing baby doll dresses.

Lest we forget out heroine Angela Chase, a grunge goddess who basically wore the same outfit every episode– layers upon layers of different flannels matched with her combat boots. Miss you guys!
