Sometimes it's hard enough to remember what happened yesterday, let alone think about what you hope happens tomorrow.
Melbourne gurl Monique Belzunce started a company that means you can be crazed by style, and still be kind to the world.
How did Dem Bones come about?
Monique Belzunce: A healthy obssession with hunting, wanderlust, dress-ups and bones. These vices were infused with fashion and film styling that created the magic that DBV universe is today.
If you could sum up DBV in one word…
MB: Adventurous.
What do you love about vintage?
MB: Creating your own individual style statement with the aesthetic of past designs.
Being a part of the evolving cycle and supporting sustainable fashion.
Your favourite item in-store at the moment?
MB: It's a battle between DBV's AMAZE 'Teal Dream' silk jumpsuit, tribal bodycon dress, and custom-made heavy metal studded shorts.
If you could dress anybody, head-to-toe in Dem Bones, who would you choose?
MB: OK, so this one is a tough one. Keeping true to some of the most current and inspiring homegrown gals that are amazingly talented – I would say Anja Konstantinova and Mandy Shadforth from Oracle Fox.
Abroad would be my all time fav Alice Delall and Kurt Cobain's daughter Frances Bean.
Can you describe a Dem Bones Vintage kind of girl?
MB: The quintessential DBV gal inspires us all to wear our 'art on our sleeve, be in the moment, and exude charisma. Bad to the bone without the ego.
She is tough, style obsessed and fashion conscious. The DBV gal loves to break rules and is determined make a statement on every adventure she takes.
