Not having a toilet would be a really bad thing. Imagine not having the access to basic sanitation; no clean running water, no sewerage system, no nothing. It's a very real problem that 2.4 billion people people (that's nearly 40% of the world's population) face every day. It's responsible for the deaths of 4,000 children under the age of five EVERY DAY. Yep, it's not good, and if finding a solution seems like a mission impossible then don't don't sweat it too hard coz there's some peeps out there who gettin' all Ethan Hunt on it.
Enter Simon Griffiths. The Co-Founder and CEO of the social enterprise bizz Good Goods has today launched it's crowdfunding campaign for the philanthropic toilet paper company Who Gives A Crap. WGAC will be giving 50% of its profits to build toilets for the people around the globe who need 'em, badly. What a rad dude, huh? Wait, it gets better
Part of Simon's master plan is to literally sit on a toilet until the campaign raises its first $50,000 on IndieGoGo, the global equivalent of Kickstarter. The $50,000 will go towards producing the initial run of WGAC dunny roll aptly named
First Edition. Those who support the cause will be able to pre-order the product as well score extra rewards.
So, if you
A) Wanna help those in need
B) Be a part of something really clever and globally awesome
