Body Cheetah brings Ten Thousand Thunders

BLOG POSTED BY PASHONCOOP ON 25 FEB 2013 @ 11:57 AM

It does feel good to be alone. I would like to think I have the body of a cheetah that will bring ten thousand thunders. With a woozy tribe who keep it never under a hundred in this bitch. Sorry for that latter part.  I've been going through some shit in my head that only the devil says. Been wanting to be buried deep under water to never understand anything ever from this band.

Where are they from? I like that sound? Where are all the white women at? Just kidding, not really, just listen to this and remember it's all about the FMLY.

Weapons of Audio like the Night Light

BLOG POSTED BY PASHONCOOP ON 22 JAN 2013 @ 07:10 PM

One thing that makes my heart warm is seeing old pals I haven't seen in a very long time following their dreams and succeeding. It
makes me want to work even hard myself. Weapons of Audio are two brothers (literally) from North Cackalacka who moved to Atlanta where I had the opportunity to run-a-muck with and see their creativity up-close-and-personal. They now are in LA where dreams can become reality with the right touch and drive.

Now to start bragging about them a bit, or lay down what they've been doing in the city of Angels. If your'e a Sci Fi nerd like myself then you might of heard of a show called Being Human on NBC, well W.O.A was graced with having their new track Night Light played on the show, where you can catch the show also on the SYFY channel. I also found out they have an artist page on MTV . You want more? The exciting thing is Night Light is off their new EP, Girl Crazy that entails collaborations with Cee-Lo/ Gnarls Barkley's producer Graham March, along with other producers like Kyle Dreaden and Zak Ray of Pack Life. As of today you can find them on Jigga Man's website. Impressed? If not, check out their Night Light video that just dropped today here in the states and look out for, Girl Crazy EP coming to a stereo near you February 4th.

If anyone knows me I don't give hype unless hype is due. I can tell W.O.A are on the West Coast for sure - you can tell by
their laid back vocals, real chill rhymes with some southern roots and 80's twang. If you like free stuff for supporting the band then some premo contest coming soon.

For Now Neill Von Tally

BLOG POSTED BY PASHONCOOP ON 26 NOV 2012 @ 03:37 PM

I met Anthony Villella last September after a Futro Records show. After the show some beat boxing and flowing happened with us and that's the beginning story of how this article came about. I promised him an article ages ago but in due time these things tend to work out. Portland's Neill Von Tally just dropped his album on the 24th. Perfect timing for some quick questions. It's been sometime since an interview, but I love interviews because they really help us see what other artist are doing and how we are all connected in a unified community.

The album is name your own price to download and feel free to listen as you read.

P : So it's been easily a year since we've seen each other or collaboration a bit. I know you were gone awhile on travels down south of Portland. How was the trip and what was the purpose?

NVT: I think there have been two trips since we last chilled. Man! Well - The first trip was to California with Bobby Bonaparte for Lift Label. We went hunting for shops to carry our new line of threads. It went really well and Lift is still being carried by many of those shops and more! California was hard because I didn't make any music for a month but it was good for Lift Label and we had fun! The other trip was to Cambodia and I could go on a lifetime about that trip. I'll just say that I was extremely surprised by Cambodia. It was beautiful and haunting. Seeing mass grave sites from the genocide as well as seeing a persevering people despite the recent horrific past. Music was a burgeoning scene there and I hope to return for some collaborations in the next year. Beautiful place.

P: Traveling is the key to diversity and what type of collaboration would you like to do there in Cambodia?

NVT: I'd really like to work with local MC's and producers. Specifically to seek out the music of Cambodia before the Khmer Rouge murdered all the musicians/banned/confiscated records. If we could collaborate on sampling that music and writing something - that'd be pretty interesting and meaningful I think. Plus I'd love to learn from their local styles.

P:And how is your balance between running a company and making music?

NVT: I've taken a step back from working on Lift to focus on music, actually. That happened in August, I believe. I found myself slacking off to work on music. Feeling guilty about it all the time and being a crummy business partner - I decided to take the plunge. I enjoy music enough to work on it in one form or another for most of the day, every day.

P:Is this your first album you've dropped on the 24th?

NVT: Yeee! First album with Futro Records just dropped. I've put out online albums unofficially/casually before - but never an album with a label onboard and never with a super fun party!

P: What was your favorite track to make on the For Now album?

NVTFavorite is hard to say. Danca Da Chuva or Pressed were probably the most fun I had while making the album. Due to the nature of the sampling and the circumstances for finding the vinyls mostly.

P: Your'e going to laugh but when I first heard of your artist name I thought to myself how it sounds like a 70's porn star's name. But after looking deeper I saw it's more clever than that.

NVTIt's Neill Von Tally. 4 L's. Haha. And yes. It's an anagram of my real name + 1 letter from my middle name like a middle initial.

P:Thanks for your time. I hope we can get together and finish some projects when I get back to PDX. Bummer I missed your release party being here in crummy old Florida but I have a feeling there shall be more. One Love

A coming soon Sun & Moon Presentation

New Star Slinger Remixes

BLOG POSTED BY PASHONCOOP ON 23 AUG 2012 @ 03:40 PM

Great thing when you hear the name Star Slinger your play-button-clicking will be faster, so you won't have to worry about reading the ramblings of a crippled, missing his baby, and soon to move cross-country guy.. I will say he has a love for dirty south trap beats and his usage of the right samples/vocals to make the track come together just right.

Free to download for now.

Based Kotze

BLOG POSTED BY PASHONCOOP ON 18 JUL 2012 @ 06:48 AM

A Based God inspired mix by my main man Pippo comes striaght out of Deutschland. I personally first heard of Based God last summer and loved the beats and laughed at the lyrics. He's a marketing genius so you can hate but I try not to sip on haterade (fyi: my new found liking for Yeezy). More beats and samples involved in Based Kotze, which is a plus when you deal with these type lyrics that I take for getting crunk to.

Purple Sticky Punch

BLOG POSTED BY PASHONCOOP ON 23 MAY 2012 @ 07:20 PM

Our Sydney mate Voges on the D & N crew posted Wubber Stumpper's first mix. Ever since that mix I've been hooked on this guys dubstep and the progression he's taken to make some substance to the newly widespread genre that everyone knowing how to make it on fruity loops thinks they are creating gold when they are really just making crap. Wubber Stumpper is keeping it real and for all you dubstep haters out there who think it sounds like two transformers having sex, I applaud you because one, I love the fu(kin9 transformers, and two, the possibilities of two transformers having sex blows my mind.

Check out Wubber Stumpper's Purple Sticky Vol 1.
