Was Rmx of Go Dugong

BLOG POSTED BY PASHONCOOP ON 14 MAR 2014 @ 09:40 PM
was

Italian producer  Go Dugong released Was in December and S&M posted it with vigor due to the respectable quality of Go Dugong's production work.  My fondness of Was from the LebensStrasse Records artist kept me pressing play, so when I found out that five of his producer friends remixed the Was EP; I had to post it.  Plus the sun is shining on us here in the North Hemisphere and Was is a perfect chillwave, glitch hop and lofi experience that's great to get us ready for spring.

Bummer Songs for Summer Blondes

BLOG POSTED BY PASHONCOOP ON 31 DEC 2013 @ 02:19 PM

Oakland band Summer Blonde has some Bummer Songs for your swell and toasty summer. Looks like it's been two years since they've put anything out (hope I'm wrong). In these cases it's good just to enjoy the surfer-rock n roll goodness and not fret about when the next album is going to come out, or when can you see them live. Seems Summer Blondes recently put their music on bandcamp.  If you dig this album then check out Vacation to Mutation.

SpongeBob x Мishka Holiday 2013 Capsule Collection

BLOG POSTED BY NICKJ ON 18 DEC 2013 @ 11:32 AM

NY streetwear doyens Mishka, and NY-based street artist L'Amour Supreme, have grabbed beloved kids (and adults) cartoon character Spongebob Squarepants by the nuts and given him a twisted makeover. The Holiday 2013 capsule collection features a couple of tees and deck, all emblazoned with Spongebob in all of his newly demented glory. Think Spongebob crossed with Robert Carlysle towards the end of 28 Weeks Later. We'd advise this gear probably stays away from your kids, just in case. Unless of course your kids dig their fav characters turning into horror fodder.

Animals Dancing - Hieroglyphic Being and Justin Van Der Volgen

BLOG POSTED BY LIFELOUNGESTAFF ON 24 OCT 2013 @ 03:53 PM

The Residence is getting a good old-fashioned shake-down, as Animals Dancing deliver an aural overload of disco, techno and house. Direct from Chicago for his first time ever in Australia, Hieroglyphic Being (AKA Jamal Moss) hits The Residence stage, weaving his dark concoction of ambient acid jazz, gritty electronic experimentalism and distorted techno.

Taking influence from the first wave of Chicago House, Ron Hardy, the sounds of Sun Ra and 90s industrial synth-pop, Hieroglyphic Being is a long-standing member of Chicago’s revered house and techno scene, and was mentored by the legendary Adonis and Steve Poindexter.

Justin Van Der Volgen
has carved his name with more than 15 years in the dance/disco community. Founding member of !!! and Out Hud, Justin began releasing on Phil South’s esteemed Golf Channel under the alias Try to Find Me in 2008. A skilled DJ and passionate record collector, Justin’s remix work for Phreek Plus One and Soft Rocks are testament to his studio skills, and leave no doubt why he’s known as one of Brooklyn’s finest selector and edit/remix/production masters.

Local support from Melbourne’s dancefloor staples, Animals Dancing and Sleep D (Live).

The Worriers - Little Lucy

BLOG POSTED BY PASHONCOOP ON 17 OCT 2013 @ 11:39 AM

Brisbane band The Worriers are a pretty fresh find from the guys over at Rare Finds who sent this to us. Took me a couple of weeks to watch their new video for Little Lucy. Well worth the wait since I found myself singing along to the simple but catchy lyrics with punk drumming and the scream at the end of the song sealed the deal for me. Hopefully The Worriers will get more spins on Triple J if you haven't already heard them on the radio.
