One time street artist
VHILS took a trip to China, and started casually carving some walls up in Shanghai. The Portuguese artist was invited to show at the 18 Gallery Magda Danysz and while he was there he decided to get a little crafty.
For those of you unfamiliar with VHILS aka Alexandre Farto, his art is a little more complicated then grabbing a stencil and spraying on a wall. Through a complex system of carving an pyrotechnics, VHILS scratches beautifully detailed portraits on public walls (goodness knows how he managed to get away with in Shanghai– it doesn't seem like the kind if place where you could blow up public property and get away with it).
