Musical business cards. The ramblings of a insane hobo? Methinks not friends, 'tis a reality. Let us explain.
Richard Eigner, one half of music duo Ritornell, who had been working on a project which brought together an orchestra of music boxes and instruments fashioned from random household objects like spoons, whisks and toilet brushes, decided the duo needed a super awesome and original business card to go with their kooky musical experiment.
Enter designer Katharina Holzl. Holzl whipped up some long pieces of card that have little triangles and circles (shapes that music boxes read) laser-milled into them and when fed through Ritornell's music boxes, play a piece of music by the duo. The idea is that the length of card can then be separated and handed out individually, giving the recipients a chance to be a part of the composition. Check ou the vid.
An awesome idea that not only gets out thumbs up, but gives us the excuse to play the business card scene from
American Psycho.
