From a distance, John Tierney's oil paintings look like the real deal. The former criminology lecturer from England has an incredible skill for creating soft, life-like urban landscapes that make you wanna do a double take. Most of his work focuses on areas of Los Angeles, New York, Helsinki and the desert of Joshua Tree National Park, with plenty of familiar landmarks including Li-Lo's second home, Chateau Marmont, and a few famous LA intersections.
For a dude who only turned his full attention to painting in 2010, his work is extremely accomplished and we dig it a lot.
