Stuart Whitton must have quite the steady hand (or a very accurate eraser at least). The London based artist creates beautifully constructed typography of pencil shavings, ribbons and extremely detailed pieces of laundry-- we're thinking that he must leave his clothes lying around a lot.
Having worked for magazines such as
Creative Review and
Wallpaper*, Whitton is also a hand at drawing celebrity portraits, with the Lady Gaga and Marc Jacobs being our personal favourites. While crazy graphic design work and pop art illustration are rad, it's sometimes refreshing to see work like Whitton's which gets back to basics– dude only needs a graphite pencil and a white page.
