In a world that seems to be increasingly moving faster and faster it's
nice to see a project that slows it all down. Russell Davies was used to
updating Twitter a couple of times a day and decided that it was time
for a really slow twitter, enter
dawdlr.
Dawdlr is a website that updates twice a year. People send in postcard
of what they are doing twice, and Russell scans and updates the website
for all to see. There's something quite nice about seeing a site that
has no urgency or panic about it. Everything else we touch these days
has this panicked kind of feeling to it, when you go to dawdlr you get
the opposite feeling, like you have all the time in the world.
So get a cup of tea, sit back, and peruse through the pictures to your
right, then go to his site
here and have a look around. As the song
goes, 'take your time young man, don't you rush to get old'.
