24-year-old, US-based illustrator Julia Sonmi Heglund is fascinated by images that make her laugh and feel uncomfortable at the same time. Her own illustrations are diverse enough that some have that effect on you, while others give you warm fuzzies, and others just make you wonder.

Unafraid of those forgotten colours from the 70s, she's especially interested in Renaissance and early Christian art as well as 1960s psychedelic poster art. The contrasts are massive but also somehow visible in her own works.

Some of those are really cool - I like the rabbit with the torch and whatever that main image is. Does she sell prints of these?

They're eating fortune cookies in space with a bull that has a person hand for a hoof and a bunch of squid-ink pasta. What's not to get?
