Born in Taichung, Taiwan Pearl C. Hsiung now lives and works in Los Angeles (via London, where she received her Masters of Fine Arts). Her surreal paintings have been on show in group and solo exhibitions for the past decade from Mexico to France.
Her paintings are made up of mixture of spray-paint, stencils and hand-painting and are always a little on the trippy side. There are giant mouths, waterfalls that resemble fingers, eyeballs in clouds, ice-cream space constellations – all neon coloured and other-worldly. It's part dream, part nightmare, part total confusion. But it looks amazing.
