Manchester based
James Roper's
paintings, illustrations and drawings are completely off the chain. He
has such and amazing grasp of motion, colour and light and his
versatility in technique is equally as inspirational as it is
intimidating. Some of his pieces share a very strong resemblance to
artist
Zach Johnsen
and as both have had an involvement with clothing label Tank Theory
there's been some obvious cross pollination there. There's also some
parallels that can be drawn between his pencil work and that of
Australia's
Jonathan Zawada, but in saying that his explosive colour paintings are fantastically fresh and original. I'm a massive fan.
