Nicolas Delille will make you nervous. The Paris-based artist creates claustrophobic pieces that speak of deadlines, gender inequality, addictions and McDonalds and will make you think of tiny fists clutching at you ALL day.
The series called Oppression
is an expression of the societal pressures that pull us in every direction, whether they be living up to a gender role, being successful in business or not being able to surpress your consumerism. As Delille puts it, "Oppression in my way is to fight against what society decided you to become, and to fight against yourself".
