Australian-born artist Melissa Haslam does what so many illustrators do in a million different ways (but of course, puts her very own spin on it) – she takes romance, fairytales, ethereal women and smooshes them with eerie and sinister undertones and dark magic. Mixing elements of botanical and fashion illustration and traditional Victorian painting, her artworks are familiar and something else altogether.
Haslam's work has been featured in a bunch of exhibitions, Elle Korea and is part of this year's fabulous Yen
Curvy book.
