Maja Sten is a Swedish illustrator and designer whose work spans far further than pictures in frames - her images have been used for everything from wallpaper, to bookmarks, to candle-holders, and wrapping paper.
Since studying at the Konstfack University College of Arts and Crafts in Stockholm, she later completed Communication Art and Design at the Royal College of Art.
Freelancing her face off for clients such as Volvo, Stussy, Levi's, Vodaphone and MTV; she also has time to create beautiful personal artworks too. Perhaps at her best when drawing animals; her birds (especially the owls) are detailed and lovely. Her images are childlike, but not cliched, and are often fairytale-esque narratives.
