Kareena Zerefos's work is smothered in all things innocent, sweet, naive, and pastel. With a description like that, you couldn't be blamed for assuming her illustrations would be nauseating. But they're not. Zerefos is really, really good.
After completing a Bachelor of Design at the College of Fine Arts in Sydney, Zerefos began moving away from her background in graphic design toward illustration a few years ago. A lot of her artworks, despite the innocence permeating them, are often bittersweet and sometimes emphasise innocence with a sense of isolation or loss.
