Jude Buffum uses classical forms to create his art. We're not talking the Renaissance period here, but old school 8-bit graphics.
In Philadelphia born and raised, Buffum studied and eventually taught graphic design and typography. He designed book covers such as Wicked
, has appeared in the New York Times, GQ and Entertainment Weekly, and won numerous awards for his work.
But we really can't go past his 8-bit interpretations of pop culture. Ghostbusters
and The Big Lebowski
portraits, Yoshi and Koopa Troopa chopped into edible pieces, and a Street Fighter
style battle between George Washington and Adolf Hitler? Yes please.
