Jude Buffum uses classical forms to create his art. We're not talking the Renaissance period here, but old school 8-bit graphics.
In Philadelphia born and raised, Buffum studied and eventually taught graphic design and typography. He designed book covers such as
Wicked, has appeared in the New York Times, GQ and Entertainment Weekly, and won numerous awards for his work.
But we really can't go past his 8-bit interpretations of pop culture.
Ghostbusters and
The Big Lebowski portraits, Yoshi and Koopa Troopa chopped into edible pieces, and a
Street Fighter style battle between George Washington and Adolf Hitler? Yes please.
