John Casey's creations are sometimes seen as morphed, scary monsters. But he sees them as vulnerable and fragile. Casey's creatures, while their appearances are a little creepy or disconcerting at first, also often have a tragic, melancholy, quirky, and funny edge to them. They further prove that old universal fact that we all see ourselves as a little freakish, ugly, or abnormal at times, and that is precisely what makes us entirely human.
Casey is a California-based artist who is consistently involved in exhibitions and whose talents also include sculpture.
