Salt Lake City-born (shout-out to the Mormon posse!) now New York-based artist Jenny Morgan makes some really nice (if a little warped) portraits. Highly realistic in ways, and manipulated in others, Morgan's paintings possess a traditional portrait quality and also a borderline computer-generated tinge; classic, realistic faces are contrasted with block colour hands while smudges and washes of colour smear the images.
Primarily using oil paint on canvas, Morgan has exhibited her work all over the US for almost a decade, has a bunch of awards and degrees in her backpack – including a Bachelor of Fine Art from the School of Visual Arts in New York.
