This collection of Jeff Divine's surf culture photography will make you wish two things: that you could surf and that men still rocked moustaches the way they did back then. Then there's the flares, super hot cars, fabulously decorated surfboards, 70s hairstyles, and the beaches. So it's porbably more than two wishes after all.
Divine has been surfing and photographing the culture since the 60s, before the sport was popular in the mainstream. He became the Photo Editor of Surfer Magazine in the early 80s and held the position for almost 20 years. Now he works as the Photo Editor at Surfer's Journal and has recently had a book of his artworks published.
These photos are beautifully composed and incredibly rich with colour. Each image feels so real that they don't seem to be from a world so many years ago and could be photos from the coast just a little drive away.
