We're no stranger to the clever street art of Dan Witz but prior to flicking through the latest edition of Empty I wasn't aware of his gallery work. His series of paintings depicting crowded mosh pits in full flight are out of this world. What can I say, the man is gifted. The way he's managed to capture the movement, tension and atmosphere that exists in the mosh and the level of detail to which he has gone is extraordinary. Respect.

Check some samples from this series aswell as some from his Cell Phone series to the right of this post and for more visit danwitzstreetart.com

Tsk tsk...young dogs of today. Where's the civility? In my day, dogs played cards and billiards and were, in general, seen and not heard.

Fucking brilliant oils. The muted pallet and dynamic subjects bring out such a raw, emotional earthiness. The crowds stand head and shoulders over his portraits though.
