You'd be forgiven in thinking the work of Wisonsin artist, Greg Gossel looks somewhat familiar. To me it's a little Roy Lichtenstein with it's recurring use of retro cartoon damsels, and a touch of Ben Frost with it's layering of a variety of media and imagery, advertising messages, porn and whatever...  That's the thing with pop art I guess. The whole movement is based around reappropriation, repurposing, rehashing and reusing but somehow in and amongst all this lack of original material, artists are able to carve out an original and defined style of their own.

Below are some samples of his pieces and for more examples of his extensive catalogue of work visit GregGossel.com

Solid dope indeed! I love the paste up style to it all and the weathered texture that runs through everything. I find this work more visually interesting then old mate Frost, all the same, I wonder what he's doing now :O - Jake OXOXOX

There is no doubt that dude has talent for putting things together. The M.I.A. pic looks out of place next to the rest of them but the Rolex Princess is pretty clever.
