Chinese-born Zhou Fan's illustrations are all based on childhood dreams and nightmares so it would seem as a kid, Fan had quite an active imagination. Kids overdosing on pills, toadstools growing out of heads, flying jellyfish, people with fish faces and tentacles; the bright and whimsical images are dreamy but they have an odd nightmarish element to them too.
Fan graduated from Shanxi University in 2006 and has since won a swag of awards and had his work exhibited everywhere from Shanghai to New York to Berlin.
Who knew fish heads and toadstools would be such a treat?
