Nalini 'DeeDee' Cheriel began her very own record label when she was 19-years-old, played in a bunch of all-girl bands, co-created the film
Down and Out with the Dolls, lived and studied everywhere from Honduras to Chile to Portugal and her native India, and now lives in LA where she creates some very cute, kitsch, odd and fabulous illustrations and paintings.
Her concentration on bears is reminiscent of Napoleon Dynamite's Liger obsession, and it's adorably nerdy. She draws influence from all kinds of places; East Indian temple imagery, punk rock, compassion and discomfort, landscapes (both natural and urban), relationships and everybody's quest for love.
