If Damon Soule's paintings and illustrations are a peek inside his head, his mind must be part Jim Henson, part Bladerunner, part naturist, part gamer, part magician and a little bit astronaut. Combining and contrasting nature and mechanics, monotones and rainbows, geometric and organic, Soule's artworks are busy and complex creations. There are implosions and explosions of colour and after staring at his works of art for a while, your brain might end up doing the same.

Born in New Orleans, he studied art at the San Francisco Art Institute and now lives in Oregon. Soule also co-founded FIT skateboards and Civilian Clothing which were both early outlets for his talent.

Damn, I think gnarly is a good word to describe his work. I love the muted tones used on the robots and the lush colour used everywhere else. Awesome! - Jake OXOXO
