Artist Charmaine Olivia's paintings and illustrations are a pretty delightful mash-up of pirate wench and fash gurl. Seemingly taking some influence from fashion illustrations Olivia creates portraits of flawless, porcelain skinned beauties who have a side of sass (often in the form of tattoos, ridiculous headwear, masks, antlers or eye-patches). We especially like the boat epaulets on the double eyed pirate lady in the lead image.
The San Francisco-based painter and illustrator is a "dreamer, painter, tea-drinker" and has created artwork for clients including Urban Outfitters, Nylon Magazine, Threadless, Society6 and others.
Olivia has a few exhibitions coming up too, if you're in the San Fran area:
January 15th – Pretty Pretty Collective, San Francisco
February 23rd – Vessel, San Francisco (solo show)
