Italian artist, Valerio Carrubba's paintings remind me of the
overlapping anatomical diagrams that you might stumble across in
vintage reference books or encyclopedias. His subjects are literally
having their flesh peeled away from the bone revealing a gory array of
vital organs, muscles blood and guts. As grotesque as this description
sounds on paper, the works are actually stunning and are performed with
meticulous detail using a double painting technique and overlapping
brushstrokes. Radness.
