We know it's not Halloween, but this guy is something else. Introducing Ray Villafane, the Edward Scissorhands of the pumpkin carving world.
The born and bred New Yorker started his career as an art teacher after graduating from NY's School of Visual Art in 1991. However, after starting freelance wax and clay sculpting in 2004, Villafane found himself in a position where he could ditch the teaching and become a fulltime artist. It then wasn't long before his newly acquired sculpting skills were applied to his pumpkin carving hobby and he became recognised the world.
After winning multiple awards for his creations, and defending his title since 2009, Ray has been invited through out the world to show of his ephemeral creations including carving the world's biggest pumpkins that weighed in at 825kg!!!!
From the President’s Quarters in the White house to Bermuda’s Sousa’s Gardens, Villafane's been busy ruling over the Pumpkingdom.
And the best part? Ray's allergic to pumpkins. Srsly....
