Attention all medical students: your childhood obsession with Warhammer could be turned into profitable art. David Foox was studying for his final Law exams in New York when he found himself buying canvases to facilitate stress release. After realising that the only Bar that was his calling was of the boozy kind, his natural talent was honed by a gentleman who worked at the local Games Workshop. The full-time Warhammer painter imparted his wisdom of painting miniature molded men with comically sized paintbrushes onto the impressionable Foox.
The result is this series of Organ Donors. Available for purchase at foox-u.com, the character you purchase is a surprise lucky dip. Some figurines are more rare than others and they come in nifty little decorated boxes. It’s kind of like a grown-up version of Pokemon trading cards. But better.
Toys aside, Foox’s latest ongoing project started when his heart was broken. It was hurting pretty foox-ing badly, so he decided to go and get his chest x-rayed. Framed and mounted on a back-lit light-box, Foox re-painted his shattered heart on top of his x-rays. The original run of eight pieces was limited due to the amount of physical radiation Foox’s doctor would let him absorb every year.
So if you want to help Foox out, and keep his radiation riddled body free of any new nasties, he is requesting for people to send him their own x-rays to become works of art. If you’re happy to reveal yourself to Foox in ways you probably never have before, he is asking for x-rays from all parts of the body – chest, head, skull, reproductive organs, etc.
